Age Requirement

AURI is for users aged 16 and over.

We set 16 deliberately, and it matches where EU policy is heading for services exactly like AURI. On 26 November 2025 the European Parliament adopted a position calling for a harmonised EU digital minimum age of 16 for social media, video-sharing platforms and AI companions, while allowing 13 to 16 year olds access with parental consent. AURI is an AI companion, so we are setting 16 now, ahead of any binding law.

That Parliament position is not yet law, and the current Finnish digital-consent age is still 13. We are choosing the higher, stricter bar and aligning to the direction the EU has signalled rather than waiting to be required to.

What This Means for Users Under 16

If you are under 16, AURI is not available to you yet. A route for 13 to 16 year olds with a parent or guardian's consent is planned, and will come with the account system. Under 13 will not be permitted in any case.

What This Means for Parents and Guardians

If you believe a child under 16 is using AURI, please contact us at info@real-e3systems.fi. We will take appropriate action, including removing the relevant data and access.

How We Protect All Users

Regardless of age, AURI's governance system:

• Never provides advice that could harm a user
• Always refers to crisis resources when distress signals are detected
• Never encourages dependency or replaces human connection
• Includes specific safeguarding behavior if a user appears to be a minor or discloses possible harm
