Minor Protection Notice
Last updated: 29 June 2026 · Age threshold: 16 years (GDPR Article 8, Finnish law)
Age Requirement
AURI is intended for users aged 16 and over.
This threshold is set in accordance with:
- GDPR Article 8 (digital consent age, Finland)
- The nature of AURI as a relational companion with mental-health-adjacent capabilities
- Our commitment to appropriate safeguarding
Why 16
AURI engages with emotional content, personal disclosure, and in some cases crisis situations. We have set the age threshold at 16 to align with Finnish and EU digital consent law and to ensure users have sufficient maturity to engage safely with a relational AI companion.
A separate younger-user product with age-appropriate design and enhanced protections is planned for the future.
What This Means for Users Under 16
If you are under 16:
- You are not permitted to use AURI
- Please speak with a trusted adult, school counselor, or youth support service
- Finnish youth support: nuortenlinkki.fi
- Crisis support for young people: sekasin.fi (ages 12–29)
What This Means for Parents and Guardians
If you believe a child under 16 is using AURI, please contact us at info@real-e3systems.fi. We will take appropriate action, including removing the relevant data and access.
How We Protect All Users
Regardless of age, AURI's governance system:
- Never provides advice that could harm a user
- Always refers to crisis resources when distress signals are detected
- Never encourages dependency or replaces human connection
- Includes specific safeguarding behavior if a user appears to be a minor or discloses possible harm
